Will there be a home delivery service during the festival?
Rabindra Dhungel, 4 October 2020. Food Management and Trading Company Limited has decided to continue ‘Home Delivery’ while operating a festival-centric Supath Mallya shop. For the first time, the company had started home delivery with the ban issued by the government for the prevention of Covid-19. Mr. Maniraj Khanal, Deputy General Manager of the Limited, said that the demand is less now than it was during the shutdown.
At that time, up to 60 orders were received daily, but now only eight or nine orders are received daily. He said that even though more orders were received as people could not go far to buy food during the shutdown, the number of orders has decreased due to easy transportation. He said, “If citizens get food at the right price, it does not mean they have to buy from here.” The company had started ‘Home Delivery’ targeting consumers who could not go to the sales room. Earlier, only the company’s goods were kept, but now the food and food items of the three organizations are being sold from one place in collaboration with Salt Trading and Dairy Development Corporation.
Consumers will also get these items at reasonable prices in ‘Home Delivery’. As Dashain, Tihar, Chhath and other festivals are approaching, soft price shops have been started in various places in the valley and outside the valley to provide food to the people at concessional prices.
All the three organizations are selling the food items regularly by providing discounts. Ltd. is giving discount of up to Rs. 5 per kg on food grains. Discount has been provided for all food grains including rice, bean and fapar.
