[Why did Oxford University warn Nepal?]
Rabindra Dhungel, 28 august 2020. The prestigious University of Oxford in the United Kingdom has projected that 49,200 people will die due to corona virus infection by the end of the year 2020. The University of Oxford and Oxford Policy Management have come to this conclusion by analyzing data on new cases, imported cases and community-level infections in Nepal in May, the state of lockdown in Nepal, the infection growth rate and mortality rate at that time.
Oxford Policy Management is part of the UK Government’s Department of Foreign Development DFID. Researchers Professor Lisa White, Dr Nicholas Lakford, Dr Sunil Pokhrel, Dr Dipti Lata and Dr Rashid Zaman have classified the growth rate of the infection in Nepal and the situation by the end of this year on three different precautionary measures.
