[Corona medicine being brought to Nepal from India]
Rabindra Dhungel, 22 august 2020. Three Indian pharmaceutical companies have started supplying anti-viral drug remedivaser to Nepal, which is considered useful against corona infection.
According to Narayan Prasad Dhakal, Director General of the Department of Drug Management, the company has started importing Remedesivir from Mylon, Cipla and Hetero. The department will currently only allow anti-viral drugs made by these three companies.
As per Nepal’s demand, Mylon Company has sent 570 cc of medicine in the first phase. The price of this medicine will be 7800 Nepali rupees per cc. A drug called remedivir is currently being shown to be very useful against corona. There are many examples of corona infections that have been cured in ICUs in India.
This medicine is given to corona infected patients for 5 days. In the early days, a dose of 200 mg is injected. For the next four days, 100 mg injections are given daily.
The Indian government had on June 13 allowed the remediator to be used against Corona. Then Indian pharmaceutical company Cipla started production of its generic version for corona treatment.
Using it in critically ill corona patients showed positive results.
Keeping this in mind, Nepal had also demanded it from India. In India, a 100 mg dose of this drug costs 4,000 Indian rupees.
