Minister Gurung reached Dolakha to meet the landslide victims
By Rabindra Dhungel, Kathmandu, Fri, 10 Aug 2020 . Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Parbat Gurung has reached the affected area on Saturday to understand the plight of the victims of the recent floods and landslides in the northern part of Dolakha.
There he met the landslide victims and provided immediate relief. Minister Gurung expressed his determination to take initiative from the government level for the long-term solution of the problem by meeting the families of the victims and the displaced persons.
Minister Gurung was committed to always be with the people not only when they are happy but also when they are in trouble.

One person was killed in a landslide in Gaurishankar village of North Dolakha district. Nine houses, including a health post, have been flooded due to the floods.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Shiwakoti, 28, of Gaurishankar rural municipality -8, Sunkhani of Kalinchok rural municipality in Tunitar of Khare.
On the same day, the floods from Gaurishankar rural municipality -6, Gurumphi instead of Suri Khola have damaged nine houses including a health post. About 40 people have been displaced.
Similarly, the landslide on the same day has damaged four houses in Gaurishankar 8 Khare Jyamire and buried dozens of cattle.
Landslides are taking place in various places including Chankhu and Marvu of Gaurishankar rural municipality.
Hydropower projects including Sipringkhola, Universal and Surikhola in the northern region have been damaged.
