Patel’s announcement, 2020 IPL is sure to take place in UAE, date… ?
Rabindra Dhungel, Thu, 23 Jul. Brijesh Patel, chairman of the IPL Governing Council, has announced that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in the UAE in 2020. No suitable date has been set for the outbreak of the coronavirus. Although preparations are being made from September 26 to November 7, Patel said that this is not the fixed date, adding that the next meeting will decide the fixed date of the IPL. The venues for the games will be in Dubai, Abudhabi and Sharjah.
With 14 days of quarantine immediately after the end of the IPL, India is scheduled to play four Test series in Australia from the first week of December, so there are indications that the game could start from September 26. According to India’s international game schedule, the IPL game is scheduled to end on November 7.
The IPL, scheduled for April, was postponed indefinitely due to a lockdown caused by the coronavirus. We were waiting for the decision to formally postpone the T-20 World Cup from the ICC. “We have applied to the Indian government for the third IPL to be held outside the country,” Patel said. The ICC estimates that the T-20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October-November due to the global epidemic of Covid-19 contagious disease. The ICC has stated that it has moved to next year. Similarly, Asia Cup T-20 has also been shifted to next year.
