Three killed, five injured in jeep accident in Doti

Kathmandu. Three people have died on the spot and five others have been injured in a jeep accident at Seunikhet Piusiya Bhir in Bogtan Fudsil village municipality-7 of Doti district.

According to Janak Raj Pandey, Chief of Police and Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Doti, a Mahindra jeep (No. 1 Cha 550) heading towards Chavarachautara from Dipayal met with an accident at around 1 pm last night.

The deceased have been identified as Manju Tripathi, ward secretary of Bogton Foodsil Village Municipality-7, her mother-in-law Harinarayan Bhatt, 40, of KISingh Village Municipality-4.

 

The injured have been identified as Kailash Bam, 30, of Bogtan Fudsil Gaonpalika-6, Hemant Bhatt, 28, of Bhimdatta Nagarpalika-19, Kanchanpur, Khemadevi Giri, 40, of Bogtan Fudsil Gaonpalika-7, Tikaram Giri, 26, of the same place. There is a child of about three years.

According to the District Police Office, Doti, a police team led by Inspector Rabindra Chand was deployed last night to rescue those killed and injured in the accident. The jeep fell about 200 meters from the road, police said. At present, rescue work is underway and the bodies of the deceased are being collected from the spot, said Inspector Chand.
