Beijing. China, which has been developing miraculously, has finally hoisted its national flag on the surface of the moon. At the same time, China has become the second country in the world to plant a flag on the moon. Fifty years after the United States planted its flag on the moon, China has also planted its flag.
A recent photo released by China’s National Space Administration shows a five-star flag standing on the surface of a windless moon. According to international media, the photo was taken before Chang A-5 collected a sample of rock on the moon on Thursday.
The United States had previously planted its flag on the moon via Apollo 11 in 1969. China’s previous two attempts had failed. By 1972, the United States had buried five more flags on the lunar surface.
In 2012, a NASA satellite image showed five flags still flying. However, some experts have suggested that he could be seen only because of the sun, not the flag. According to the Chinese state media Global Times, the Chinese flag reminded them of the enthusiasm and inspiration of the US Apollo plan.
The Chinese flag is said to be 2 meters wide and 90 centimeters high. It also weighs one kilogram. All parts of the flag are protected from the cold. But it is not like any other flag on earth, says Cheng Chang. Because other common flags cannot stay on the moon, it is said to be designed differently.
This time the flag is said to be different from the flag sent during the previous two missions. This is the third time in seven years that a successful landing on China’s moon has been possible.
