Delhi Capitals rose to the top spot by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 59 runs
By Rabindra Dhungel, 6 October 2020. Delhi Capitals have risen to the top spot in Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket. Delhi beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 59 runs at the International Cricket Stadium in the UAE last night.
Following the target of 197 runs set by Delhi, Bangalore lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and managed to score only 137 runs. Batting first after losing the toss, Delhi lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 196 runs.
Delhi, which has risen to the top spot with the victory, has added eight points in five games. Bangalore has added 6 points in 5 games. Marcus Stones remained unbeaten on 53 for Delhi. Similarly, Prithvi Shale added 42 runs while Rishab Pant scored 37 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan scored 32 runs while captain Shreyas Ayre was dismissed for 11 runs. Mohammed Siraj of Bangalore took 2 wickets. Ishuru Udana and Moin Ali took 1 and 1 wickets respectively.
Captain Virat Kohli was the top scorer for Bangalore with 43 runs. Washington Sundar added 17 runs and Aaron Finch added 13 runs. Navdeep Saini scored an unbeaten 12 while Moin Ali and Shivam Dubey scored 11 and 11 runs respectively.
Delhi’s Kagiso Rabada took 4 wickets. Enrich Nortje and Akshar Patel took 2 and 2 wickets respectively.
