Rabindra Dhungel, 28 september 2020. Tribhuvan University is preparing to give exams to the students who are physically unable to attend from the home campus. After the government stated that the number of active infected people could reach 25,000, TU has started preparations with the arrangement of taking the exam from the home-based campus.

Tribhuvan University Registrar Prada Peshal Dahal said that the government was going to make arrangements for the exams to be held even on the campus of near home . He said, “We have made arrangements to give physical examination now. If the situation changes and we have to re-apply, we have made arrangements to give home examination with all the alternative arrangements.”

The meeting of the Board of Directors of the examination of Tribhuvan University had instructed the Dean’s Office to make all preparations for the examination in November. The dean’s office has instructed all campuses to start preparing for the exam. The dean’s office has taken information about the condition of students on all campuses.

Informing that a study is being carried out on which students are in contact with the capital or the campus as soon as the lockdown is open, Registrar Dahal said, “We will give information about the model when the real details come out a decade ago.”

Panika is also preparing to take the exam in open book model by giving fixed time like online or other universities. In this model, the campus has to send the question paper by email a few minutes before the exam and the answer sheet has to be sent by taking photo or scanning during the period specified by the student.

Registrar Dahal, who is also the head of the examination, said that discussions are underway to take the examination of about 25,000 postgraduate students in the first phase.

He said that the number of final year students in private, MPA and politics should be taken in the first phase. However, due to the inability to adopt alternative methods of examination, it is still uncertain whether the examination will be conducted from August.

Associate Professor Basanta Dhakal, president of the TRI Professors’ Association, accused the Examination Control Office of extreme negligence in not conducting the examination even after five months.

He said, “At present, about 18,000 people have become actively infected across the country. In such a situation, it is wrong to say that I will take the exam only in physical presence instead of thinking of a new option. ‘

He accused TU of failing to show any sympathy for the future of millions of students. He urged to conduct the examination by any alternative method immediately and said that the future of the students should not be taken into consideration in such a situation.
