Unlimited phone and internet services for Rs. 99 per month

Rabindra Dhungel, 27 september 2020. There is good news for government and public school teachers, students and parents. They will be able to use unlimited phone and internet services for Rs 99 per month. In addition, those who do not have a seam of Nepal Telecom will get a seam for free. With these facilities, the cost of online classes run by government schools will become cheaper.

 

 

 

Teachers, students and parents of each school are affiliated to the company’s Close User Group (CUG) and a monthly deposit of Rs. Rajesh Joshi, spokesperson of Nepal Telecom, said that unlimited conversations can be done within the closed group on the 99th.

In addition, 5 GB data service and bulk SMS facility will be provided to run the website of Voice Service, Education and Human Resource Development Center. All courses and textbooks for grades 1 to 10 will be available on the Education and Human Resource Development Center’s website (www.learning.cehrd.edu.np). Nepal Telecom has stated that VAT, TSC and OT tax will be added to Rs 99 per month.

The prepaid SIM card will enable unlimited communication between teachers, students and parents, run the web portal of the Education and Human Resource Development Center for free and send bulk SMS for educational purposes.

For the purpose of forming a corporate user group, every household studying in a public school will be given a SIM card and the phone number of the SIM card of each teacher of that school will be collected. These phone numbers of each school will be added to the CUG service. The Government of Nepal will provide subsidy to Nepal Telecom for the loss incurred in the service charges. The cost of this service will be borne by the Government of Nepal, users and service providers in partnership, Nepal Telecom said.

 

 

 

 

The ‘Pathshala CUG SIM’ provided to the students or parents can be obtained from the office of the nearest Nepal Telecommunication Company by taking the recommendation from the local body in the duly filled form. Similarly, the company will also provide toll free number at concessional rates as far as possible from a technical point of view.

 

 

 

After the Center for Education and Human Resource Development compiles and sends the list of public schools that do not have internet service, including villages, Nepal Telecom will study and pilot to provide internet service through wireless broadband technology in schools and expand mobile and FTTH in those places as per its action plan.

 

 

 

 

As per the ‘School Education Contingency Action Plan 2077’ prepared by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Nepal Telecom is going to provide services at very cheap rates to help the school going children in learning by creating an environment conducive to their environment.

 

 

 

 

Under this, Nepal Telecom, in coordination with the Education and Human Resource Development Center, is going to provide the company’s prepaid mobile ‘Pathshala CUG SIM’ free of cost for the purpose of establishing learning link between government and community school teachers and students.
