Sandeep Lamichhane-affiliated Delhi Capitals made a winning start in the IPL
Rabindra Dhungel, 21 september 2020. Delhi Capitals, affiliated to Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, has made a winning start in the Indian Premier League Cricket (IPL). Delhi defeated Punjab in the Super Over in the UAE on Sunday night. Punjab lost 2 wickets in 3 balls and scored only 2 runs in the match KL Rahul 2 and Nicholas Puran were out for zero runs. Both the wickets were taken by Kagiso Rabada.
Delhi completed the target of three runs in three balls. Rishabh Pant of Delhi scored the winning run. Earlier, Delhi had set a target of 158 for Punjab to win. After Punjab lost 8 wickets and scored 157 runs, the game was pushed to super over. Mayank Agrawal played a brilliant innings of 89 runs for Punjab.
Opener KL Rahul scored 21, Kushnappa Gautam 20 and Sarfaraz Khan 13 runs. Other players could not touch the double digit score. Delhi’s Kagiso Rabada, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stones took 2-2 wickets apiece. Mohit Sharma and Akshar Patel took 1-1 wickets.
