By Rabindra Dhungel, 20 september 2020. Kia has sold more than one lakh SUVs in the 11 months since its debut in India. Kia unveiled its first model, the Celtus, in the Indian market in August 2019. During that time, Kia has become the fastest automaker to sell 100,000 SUVs.
Korean automaker Kia has achieved this feat with its two models – the Carnival Premium MPV and the Celtus SUV. Looking at the progress of the model, the carnival that entered India at the Auto Soma earlier this year has sold 3,614 units.
Celtos has become the best-selling utility vehicle in India in a short span of time with 97,745 units sold. The Celtos have been popular since they came to the market and since then they have been able to maintain their popularity, earning the title of the popular SUV.
Kia is set to unveil its third model Al New Sonnet compact AUV in the Indian market. Preparing for the global launch on August 7, Kia’s new model sonnet is expected to hit the Indian market in September.
