Huawei’s App Gallery Achieving Significant Achievements
Rabindra Dhungel, 15 september 2020. Huawei has unveiled the key achievements of the App Gallery at its 2020 Developer Conference. Speaking at the conference, Wang Yanmin, Chairman, Global Partnership and Eco Development, Huawei Consumer Business Group, explained the achievements of App Gallery in the first quarter of 2020.
Despite the challenges, App Gallery and Huawei’s mobile service HMS Ecosystem have made significant strides this year. Huawei is grateful to its global partners for this. App Gallery has become the world’s third largest app distributor platform.
After being deprived of all of Google’s services, Huawei’s own app gallery for the Android operating system now caters to the various needs of 490 million monthly active users in 170 countries and territories, the company said.
In the first six months of 2020, the number of app downloads from the app gallery reached 261 billion. At the same time, the popularity of this platform can be seen in the app marketplace. Currently, 1.8 million developers around the world are connected to the HMS ecosystem. 96,000 applications from around the world have been integrated into the HMS core.
These services are providing a different experience to the users. In addition, the app gallery is now meeting the needs of the users by unboarding popular local apps on its platform in different regions and countries.
As it moves forward, Huawei is constantly expanding its developer experience. Huawei has also set up three Global Ecosystem Cooperation Labs to serve global developers in Russia, Poland and Germany.
It provides enablement, testing and certification services to developers. Huawei is also setting up five Global Developer Service Centers in Romania, Malaysia, Egypt, Mexico and Russia.
