[Nepal has come up with an electric scooter that can run 150 kilometers on a full charge]

Rabindra Dhungel, 11 september 2020. An electric scooter that can run 150 kilometers on a single full charge has arrived in Nepal. A company called large EV has brought two models of electric scooters of ‘Levning’ brand to Nepal. Jumbo EV has stated that the sale of Leving brand electric scooters will start within two weeks. The company said that its grand launching program was postponed due to the ban.

 

The company will initially sell Levning’s scooters from Kathmandu and Butwal. After that, the company plans to gradually expand its dealer network. Electric scooters have been entering Nepal recently. As soon as the lockdown came to an end, Telgi and Genius brand electric scooters started selling in the Nepali market. Similarly, the market is preparing to start selling electric two-wheelers of brands like Ampere, Pure and Yadiya.

Large EV has stated that it will sell two scooters of Levning in the initial stage. The company will sell the S5 and X1. The S5 has a 3-kilowatt motor, a 60-volt, 20-amph-lit lithium-ion battery pack and a dual-battery scooter. It has a top speed of 45 kmph and features LED lights, disc brakes and digital instrument cluster.

Similarly, a 2.02 kW motor has been used in X1. It also has Samsung’s portable lithium ion battery pack of 60 volts 20 amp hours similar to S-5. The company has also given double battery option. Other features are similar to the S-5, the company said. The X-1 is priced at Rs 270,000 and the S-5 at Rs 350,000, according to the company. The company has informed that an additional Rs 70,000 has to be paid for the double battery option in both the models.
