[Players of the Nepali national cricket team have received their one-year salary]
Rabindra Dhungel, 11 september 2020. He has received the 2019 salary. The Nepal Cricket Association (NCA) has provided one year salary to 22 players of the national cricket team and one video analyst. CAN said on Wednesday it had deposited money in everyone’s account.
The remuneration was sent by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the account of the Nepal Cricket Association (NCA). The amount was deposited by CAN in the player’s account, said CAN treasurer Roshan Bahadur Singh. The players of the national team were not able to get their regular salary after 2019.
CAN had divided the Nepali players into A, B and C categories. Among them, A category players get a monthly salary of Rs 45,000, B category players get Rs 35,000 and C category players get Rs 25,000 monthly.
Earlier, CAN had been providing Rs 35,000 monthly to those in A category, Rs 25,000 to B category players and Rs 15,000 to C category players.
CAN had sent the names of 23 players in the first week of August after the ICC asked for a list of players for remuneration. The list of players sent by CAN is before the CAN suspension is lifted. The list of players for the 2019 squad was sent to the ICC. Earlier, the player’s salary was being provided by the ICC while CAN was suspended.
The ICC sent the two-year salary in 2018 through the National Sports Council (NSC). Since then, the players have not been paid. CAN had earlier divided the players into three categories for remuneration. Accordingly, the ICC has provided remuneration for 21 players.
