England have won their first Twenty20 cricket match against Australia

England won the game in Southampton on Friday by 2 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Chasing England’s target of 163, Australia lost six wickets in 20 overs and could only add 160 runs.
For Australia, skipper Aaron Finch and David Warner got off to a great start by sharing 98 runs for the first wicket. Finch was out for 46 runs. Steve Smith added 18 runs. David Warner added 58 runs. Joffra Archer and Adil Rashid took 2-2 wickets for England while Mark Wood took 1 wicket.
Earlier, England had scored 162 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs after losing the toss. England’s David Malan top-scored with 66 runs. Butler scored 44 runs while Chris Jordan remained unbeaten on 14 and Adil Rashid on 1. Tom Curran was out for 6 runs.
Australian spinners Ashton Agar, Glenn Maxwell and Ken Richardson took 2-2 wickets. Pat Cummins took one wicket. The second game of the three-match series will be played on Sunday and the last game will be played on Tuesday in Southampton.
