Muktinath is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. It is located at an altitude of 3,710 meters above sea level in the Trans-Himalayan district of Mustang, Nepal. The temple is called by the Hindus as the “Salvation Zone” and by the Buddhists as “Chuming Gyatsa” which means “Hundred Water” in Tibetan.
Chuming Gyatsa is also one of the 24 Tantric places of Tibetan Buddhism. Muktinath is also one of the major temples of the Vaishnava sect.
This place of pilgrimage is famous for Lord Shaligram. Shaligram is actually a sacred stone that is revered in Hinduism. It is mainly found in the river Kaligandaki. The area where Muktinath is located is known as Muktikshetra.
According to Hindu religious beliefs, this is the area where people get salvation or salvation. Muktinath’s journey is complicated, but thousands of Hindus come here for pilgrimage. It is one of the remote pilgrimage sites of Hinduism.
