More than 3.5 billion people worldwide are directly or indirectly involved in this sport. The game of football has provided employment opportunities to millions of people.

Many people have made a name for themselves through football. The first names that come to mind when it comes to football are former Brazilian player Pele and Argentine player Diego Maradona.
When he was at the height of his football career, he could not earn as much money as today’s players by playing football. There was not as much money in football then as there is now. Due to his personal skills, his name is engraved in the history of football today.
The most famous players of the 21st century are Portugal and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina and Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Now football fans are divided into two camps. Ronaldo on one side and Messi on the other. These two players have been ruling the FIFA Player of the Year for the past nine years. Before these two, the FIFA Player of the Year was the Brazilian player’s uncle.
He achieved that feat in 2007. Ronaldo and Messi are not the highest paid players in the world. Carles Tevez, an Argentine player who has resigned from international football to play football in China, has a higher salary than him. He receives  40 million a year from Chinese club Shenhu FC. Ronaldo is second and Messi is third.
In our society, watching sports is not very good. There is no opportunity to earn money by engaging in sports in Nepal. Therefore, sports is not considered as a business in Nepal. League football, considered the backbone of football, has not been able to operate in Nepal for 18 months.
Football is the sport with the highest prize money in Nepali sports. The National League winner gets Rs 10 million. Due to the non-operation of the national league, football players have to be limited to ten days a week. Some of the players who play in the off-season competitions have been playing without money.
The club has been signing players for the national league by paying good salaries. Various business houses have also been sponsoring the club for the league. Talented players have to be unemployed due to non-operation of national league annually.
