Apples planted as a test at Chakhudethala Basic School in Swamikartik Khapar village of Bajura district have borne fruit this year. The school has stated that one thousand apple trees planted in the school premises last April have started bearing fruits.

Niresh Kattel, a technician in the agriculture branch of the village municipality, informed that the apples planted by the municipality last April started bearing fruit. Fuji, Gala and Golden varieties of apples have started growing in that place. Of the three varieties planted, Golden and Gala varieties of apples were grown, said JT Kattel.

The apple, which costs around Rs 1,100 per boat, was brought from Italy in coordination with Agro Manang, according to the village municipality. The village municipality has given priority to apples, toothpicks, mangoes, pomegranates, olives, lychees and other fruits grown in dry areas and planted them in Deura area of ​​the village municipality.

Earlier, the same variety of apple was grown in Gaumul village of the district. According to Ramesh BK, chief of the agriculture branch of the village, the farmers have become aware of planting the same variety of apples in the coming days after the apples bear fruit within four months of planting.
