Rabindra Dhungel, 27 August 2020 . The University Grants Commission (UGC) and Nepal Telecom (NT) have reached an agreement to eradicate the problem of corona virus (Covid-19) in the education sector. The University Grants Commission has reached an agreement to make the alternative education system easier to conduct the academic session as per the demand of the time.

As per the agreement, Nepal Telecom will provide Happy Learning Pack to all those involved in study, teaching and research in all the universities of the country and their affiliated campuses. This pack can be used at any time that suits you through the data service of GSM Mobile (2G, 3G and 4G) provided by Nepal Telecom.

Under this, there will be two types of packages and the duration of these two packages will be 28 days. Under the package, 24 GB data will be available for Rs 315 and 35 GB data for Rs 500, the telco said. Of the 24 GB of data, 20 GB can be used for e-learning applications in Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, and the remaining 4 GB of data can be used for any other application.

Similarly, out of 35 GB of data, 30 GB of data can be used for e-learning applications in the above mentioned Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet and the remaining 5 GB of data can be used for any other application. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of Nepal Telecom Dilliram Adhikari and Chief Administrative Officer of the University Grants Commission Subhash Chandra Dhungel in the presence of Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel.
