Rabindra Dhungel, 24 august 2020. German club Bayern Munich have won the European Champions League for the sixth time, beating French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 1-0 in the final on Sunday night. Bayern have won the Champions League after seven years.
Komman, the former PSG player, scored the only goal to give Bayern victory in the game in Lisbon, Portugal. He gave Bayern the lead in the 59th minute with a pass from Jose Kimmick. That goal of the French player was enough to beat PSG. The 24-year-old Common, who scored a goal to beat his own country’s club, has won the 20th title of his career.
Reaching the final for the first time, PSG’s dream of winning the Champions League could not be fulfilled this time.
Reaching the final for the first time since 2013, Bayern managed to add another title to the Champions League. Bayern are joint third with Liverpool in the Champions League. Real Madrid have won the title 13 times and AC Milan 7 times.
Bayern last won the title in 2013, beating Borussia Dortmund of Germany. Bayern, who won the title three times in a row in 1974, 1975 and 1976, also won the title in 2001. Bayern, who have won the title six times in 11 finals, were runners-up five times. Bayern have won the Nahari Nahari title this season.
Bayern, who won two domestic trophies and the Champions League in 2013, have won the treble again. Bayern have become the second club to win the treble title for the second time. Bayern have won the German Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League this season.
Spanish club Barcelona had previously won the treble twice in 2009 and 2015.
