Keeping in view the price sensitivity in the Indian car market, MG Motor is planning to develop a cheaper electric car. In India, the car will cost less than Rs 1 million. According to the report, MG Motors is looking at all aspects of the demand in the Indian market for this and only then will the price of the new car be decided.
If we look at the sales of MG ZS EV, more than 400 cars were sold in India before the lockdown. Not only that, more than 3,000 cars have been booked. The company aims to sell 3,000 to 4,000 MG ZS EVs by the end of 2020.
Battery and range
The SUV sold by the company has a 44.5 kWh lithium ion battery pack. Which gives a power of 1 143 PS and 353 Nm of torque. It will provide a range of 330 kilometers on a single charge. The car’s battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 40 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger, while it takes 7 hours to charge with a 7 kW charger.
The MG ZS EV SUV will provide a range of 330 kilometers on a single battery charge. At the same time, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.5 seconds.
